He was a playwright during the Elizabethan era. There isn’t much information on when he was born, however we know when he was baptized in April 1564. At age of 18 married Anne Hathaway and had three children. He lived in a small English town called Stratford upon Avon where he work as a actor. He was part of the Lord Champlain’s men, the leading playing company in London. The group was the only playing company to perform Shakespeare’s play during his life. They awarded a royal patient by James I and changed their name to The King’s Men. The King’s Men built a sophisticated theater The Globe on the bank of the Thames River in London. Shakespeare became a rich man and bought a large house called New Place. He retired to Stratford and died in April 1616 leaving behind his wife and thier three daughters.
